清乾隆 白玉雕連年有餘擺件

skillfully carved following the natural form of the pebble, the plump body of the fish extending to an elaborate fantail, its round,
protruding eyes set above a slightly lipped mouth grasping slender stalks of lotus blossom and lotus leaves, the finely polished
stone of an attractive even color with russet coloration on the top

Catalogue Note
This masterpiece of jade carving employs as much of the original stone as possible and turns it into a naturalistic representation
of a goldfish with lotus flowers. The balance between the weightiness of the plump fish, its scales ingeniously suggested
through the russet skin of the pebble, and the delicate openwork of the lotus leaves and flower attest to the carver’s expertise.
