       hooves tucked underneath the body, the tail wrapped around the hindquarters, the mane and tail detailed with fine incisions, the
       stone celadon-white tone with russet patches

       Catalogue Note
       Exquisitely rendered with a gentle smile and full rounded body, the horse has been further endowed with a certain individuality
       through the jade stone from which it has been fashioned. Carvers of the Ming period aimed to capture more than the mere
       physical likeness of subjects, so as to convey their true character.
