 The scribe of our prayer book, ‘Ali al-Ulwi Efendi
 was an Albanian who studied under Ali Wasfi
          PROVENANCE:
 Efendi and Çömez Mustafa Efendi. He was the
          Michel Abemayor (1912-1975), New York
 instructor in calligraphy in the Bezm-i Alem
 16  Valide Sultan School in Çemberlitaş. He died in
 AH 1270 and is buried in Üsküdar, Turkey.
