TWO IRON-RED-DECORATED 'DRAGON' DISHES

A LARGE BLUE AND WHITE CIRCULAR 'DRAGON' BOX AND The larger dish is decorated to the interior with a five-clawed dragon, with
COVER the exterior decorated with two further dragons chasing flaming pearls. The
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK WITHIN DOUBLE-CIRCLES AND smaller dish is decorated to the interior with a five-clawed dragon set against
POSSIBLY OF THE PERIOD an incised ground of overlapping waves, with the exterior decorated with two
further dragons.
The top and sides of the cover and the sides of the box are painted in shades of
blue with five-clawed dragons amidst floral sprays, raised on a short ring foot. The larger 8 in. (20.3 cm.) diam. (2)
