The rectangular box with angled corners and overhanding cover, decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e,
takamaki-e, togidashi, kinpun and cut gold foil on a black roiro-nuri ground with elegantly formed rockwork amidst
crashing waves beneath a cloudy sky, the design continuing onto the sides, the interior of the cover similarly
decorated on a mura-nashiji ground, the patinated pewter water dropper in the form of waves, the rectangular
slate inkstone with indented corners and fundame rims, inset into the removable base decorated in mura-nashiji
