AN EMBROIDERED BLUE SILK GROUND
FUR-LINED ‘NINE DRAGON’ ROBE, JIFU
19th century
The nine five-clawed dragons worked in
couched gilt threads, and the remaining
decoration of cranes, ruyi clouds, auspicious
symbols, and lishui stripes embroidered in
brightly colored silk threads, the neck bands
and cuffs embroidered en suite on a black
ground; the borders of the hem and the right
side lined with white fur.
