EXPRESSING HOPES, WISHES AND CONGRATULATIONS

In this chapter the students will learn to express hopes and wishes to others and
congratulate others for their fortune and achievement, in order to keep good personal
relationship with them.

HOPES AND WISHES

A. Pay attention to the conversations. These conversations contain the
expression of hopes and wishes.

Dialog 1
Ni Luh : Hi, Binsar. What are you doing?
Binsar : I’m studying for the math exam.
Ni Luh : The math exam? Is it today?
Binsar : No. It’s tomorrow.
Ni Luh : Good luck, then.
Binsar : Thank You.

Dialog 2
Thinneke : I’m going to join the singing audition tomorrow.
Johan : Singing audition?
Thinneke : Yes. It’s for the school choir.
Johan : Really? How many students will join the audition?
Thinneke : I’m not sure, around 200, I guess.
Johan : Wow, that’s a lot. I wish you luck in the audition.
Thinneke : Thank You.
