               This  will  help  you  to  familiarize  yourself  with  the               composition,  identify  problem  areas,  and  get  some               practice making measurements of the proportions.               Use loose, sketchy lines and put down the largest shapes               first, then fill in the smaller details.               There's  no  need  to  erase  lines  as  long  as  your  finished               sketch is clear enough to serve as a helpful guide for the               final drawing.               After making the rough study, transfer the essential lines               to the drawing paper.               You can do this either by using transfer paper and your               sketch to copy the lines directly, or by repeating the same               sketching process as before, only using a harder pencil.
