Water had risen and sure enough as soon as I got to paddling, up around the bend, Rocks ap-
peared sticking out of the water in the odd and seemingly tossed places.
Technically for most people easy to avoid.
No real current present. This was not the mi-
nor rapids mentioned, this was a rock farm
and I knew my history with rocks in the river.
SEE ROCK HIT ROCK
I did. Over and over again. So did my tow.
Over and over again. It is a common theme
you paddle to where you are looking, so if
you look at rock, you hit rock. You look
aside, you miss rock. I mastered at hitting
rocks.
Now this is why I love my Inflatable Kayaks.
They bounce. Seriously. The don’t get im-
paled or cracked, punctured or any number of
calamities, no 90% of the time they bounce.
Because of low pressure and “give” of the
materials they are made out of, rather than
puncture they yield ….then spring back.
This isn’t bad in the Intex Explorer K-2, just
a minor bounce. BUT OH NOT THE SEA
EAGLE 370 BEING BETTER GRADE MA-
TERIAL AND CLASS 3 WHITE WATER,
that little sucker bounces back like a Super
ball. Remember those. Little drop giant
bounce.
By the time I got thru this first rock farm I
knew what the Pinball felt like when the Pin-
ball Wizard played it.
Forwards, backwards, sideways, reverse
leads it was more funny then real effort and I
just bounced my way thru. My first rocks ear-
lier I had avoided, these I hit over and over
again and loved it………...
