Listening to Weather reports had become part of my morning ritual. Later down the Mississip-
pi River I would use them as an advisory but unless I was on top of a city, I was better off
looking at the sky and gauging my local immediate area.
Things like “observers” and observations were foreign to me as I was used to Doppler and oth-
er radio/weather/TV news lingo.
This early in the season, I was seriously betting that a recording was playing every day because
the temp ranges were always the same and the forecast. “Sunny cloudy” “Cloudy Sunny” 60 to
70 degrees.
So far I had not found a weather report correct to my area yet and it became a joke I figured
some Minnesotan was playing since they did not seem to change. They had begun to mention
these “observers” that would later be calling in.
The more I experienced in Minnesota on the Mississippi and surrounding area’s the more I had
to confess I didn't have a clue about the area.
So far it still hit me as funny….,
