P. 179

O Saviour Christ, our woes dispel:
        Songs of sinful man? For some are sick, and some are sad,
        Can we know that Thou art near us And some have never loved thee well,
        And wilt hear us? Yea, we can. 2/5 And some have lost the love they had. 3/7

        Verse 3                                                 Verse 4
        Yea, we know that Thou rejoicest And some have found the world is vain,
        O'er each work of thine,                                Yet from the world they break not free;
        Thou didst ears, and hands, and voices And some have friends who give them pain,
                                                                Yet have not sought a friend in thee. 4/7 Verse 5
        For Thy praise design; And all, O Lord, crave perfect rest,
        Craftsman's art and music's measure                     And to be wholly free from sin;
        For Thy pleasure all combine. 3/5 And they who fain would serve thee best
                                                                Are conscious most of wrong withiin. 5/7
        Verse 4
        In Thy house, great God, we offer Verse 6
        Of thine own to thee,                                   O Saviour Christ, thou too art man;
        And for thine acceptance proffer,                       Thou hast been troubled, tempted, tried;
                                                                Thy kind but searching glance can scan
        All unworthily, The very wounds that shame would hide. 6/7
        Hearts, and minds, and hands, and voices
        In our choicest psalmody. 4/5 Verse 7
                                                                Thy touch still has its ancient power;
        Verse 5 No word from thee can fruitless fall; Hear in this
        Honour, glory, might, and merit solemn evening hour, And in thy mercy heal us
        Thine shall ever be, all. Amen. 7/7
        Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, HOME

        Blessed Trinity. 373 Jesus, stand among us
        Of the best that Thou hast given, Verse 1
        Earth and heaven render thee. Amen. 5/5 Jesus, stand among us
        HOME                                                    In your risen power;
        372 At even, ere the sun was set Let this time of worship
        Verse 1                                                 Be a hallowed hour. 1/3
        At even, ere the sun was set,
        The sick, O Lord, around thee lay; O in what Verse 2
        divers pains they met! Breathe the Holy Spirit
        O with what joy they went away! 1/7                     Into every heart;
                                                                Bid the fears and sorrows
        Verse 2 From each soul depart. 2/3
        Once more 'tis eventide, and we,
        Oppressed with various ills, draw near; What if Verse 3
        thy form we cannot see? Thus with quickened footsteps
        We know and feel that thou art here. 2/7 We'll pursue our way,
                                                                Watching for the dawning
        Verse 3 Of eternal day. 3/3
