526 Where cross the crowded Verse 2
ways of life, Under the shadow of Your throne
        Verse 1                                                 Your saints have dwelt secure;
                                                                Sufficient is your arm alone,
Where cross the crowded ways of life, And our defence is sure. 2/7
Where sound the cries of race and clan,
Above the noise of selfish strife, Verse 3
We hear Thy voice, o Son of Man. Before the hills in order stood
                                                                Or earth received her frame,
Verse 2 From everlasting you are God,
In haunts of wretchedness and need, To endless years the same. 3/7
On shadowed thresholds dark with fears, From
paths where hide the lures of greed We catch Verse 4
        the vision of Thy tears.
A thousand ages in your sight
                                                                Are like and evening gone,
        Verse 3
From tender childhood's helplessness, Short as the watch that ends the night
From woman's grief, man's burdened toil, From Before the rising sun. 4/7

famished souls, from sorrow's stress, Your heart
has never known recoil. Verse 5
The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their cares and fears,
        Verse 4
The cup of water given for you Are carried downward by the flood,
Still holds the freshness of your grace; And lost in following years. 5/7

Yet long these multitudes to view Verse 6
The strong compassion of your face.
Time, like an ever rolling stream,
                                                                Bears all its sons away;
Verse 5 They fly forgotten, as a dream
O master, from the mountain side,
Make haste to heal these hearts of pain; Dies at the opening day. 6/7

        Among these restless throngs abide,
        O tread the city's streets again: 5/6 Verse 7
O God, our Help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
        Verse 6
Till all the world shall learn your love, A constant guard while troubles last,
And follow where your feet have trod; And our eternal home. 7/7 Amen
                                                                HOME
Till, glorious from your heaven above
Shall come the city of our God. 6/6
HOME 528 Father, who on us dost
                                                                shower
527 O God, our Help in ages past Verse 1

Verse 1 Father, who on us dost shower gifts of plenty
O God, our Help in ages past, from thy dower, to thy people give the power all
Our Hope for years to come, thy gifts to use aright.
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home; 1/7 Verse 2

                                                         Return
