Omnipotent Redeemer, O come, O come, Thou lord of might,
Our ransomed souls adore Thee; Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height,
Whate'er is done In ancient times didst give the law
Thy work we own,
And give Thee all the glory; In cloud, and majesty, and awe
Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel
With thankfulness acknowledge Shall come to thee, O Israel. 2/5 Verse 3
Our time of visitation; O come, Thou rod of Jesse, free
Thine hand confess, Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
And gladly bless From depths of hell Thy people save,

Exulting in their Saviour, Make safe the way that leads on high,

The gospel song, And close the path to misery.

Thy wonders wrought already Verse 5
Require our ceaseless praises; O come, Thou Day-spring, come and cheer
But show Thy power, Our spirits by Thine advent here;
And myriads more Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
Endue with heavenly graces.
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
But fill our earth with glory, Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel
And, known by every nation, Shall come to thee, O Israel. 5/5
