The promise is securely made; When the Spirit comes like a Dove. 3/4
        To you far off - He calls you all;
        Believe the word which Christ has said: 2/6 Verse 4
                                                                Give us the power here and now, O Christ,
        Verse 3                                                 Please for the power here and now;
        The Holy Ghost, if I depart, Send us the power of grace and peace and love,
        The Comforter, shall surely come, Send us the power of peace and love. 4/4
        Shall make the contrite sinner's heart HOME
        His loved, His everlasting home. 3/6 156 Our blest Redeemer, ere He
                                                                breathed
        Verse 4
        Assembled here with one accord, Verse 1
        Calmly we wait the promised grace, The Our blest Redeemer, ere He breathed
                                                                His tender last farewell,
        purchase of our dying Lord:
        Come, Holy Ghost, and fill the place. 4/6 A Guide, a Comforter bequeathed,
                                                                With us to dwell.   1/6

        Verse 5
        If every one that asksmay find, Verse 2
        If still you would on sinners fall, He came in semblance of a dove,
        Come as a mighty rushing wind; With sheltering wings outspread,
        Great grace be now upon us all. 5/6 The holy balm of peace and love
                                                                On each to shed.   2/6
        Verse 6
        Behold, to you our souls aspire, Verse 3
        And languish your descent to meet: He came in tongues of living flame,
        Kindle in each the living fire,,                        To teach, convince, subdue;
        And fix in every heart your seat. Amen. 6/6 All-powerful as the wind He came,
        HOME                                                    As viewless too.   3/6

        155 O let the power fall on me, Verse 4
        my Lord And His that gentle voice we hear,
        Verse 1 Soft as the breath of even,
        O let the power fall on me, my Lord That checks each fault, that calms each fear,
        Let the power fall on me; And speaks of heaven. 4/6
        O let the power from heaven fall on me
        Let the power fall on me. 1/4 Verse 5
                                                                And every virtue we possess,
        Verse 2 And every conquest won,
        For we want power to live as one, yes Lord, And every thought of holiness,
        We want power to live as one; Are His alone. 5/6
        So as we pray and intercede for some,
        May the Spirit make us one. 2/4 Verse 6
                                                                Spirit of purity and grace,
        Verse 3                                                 Our weakness, pitying, see;
        Send us the promised Comforter, O Christ, O make our hearts Thy dwelling place,
        Send us the promised Comforter, And worthier Thee. Amen. 6/6
        And let our hearts be filled with love O Christ, HOME
