 Aloha ‘Oe Reception held for Laura Wesphal
Adventist Health Castle celebrated Patient Care Executive Laura Westphal’s 20-year career at a reception in Administration. AHCS senior leadership expressed appreciation for Westphal’s many contributions to the medical center and wished her well in this next chapter of her life.
  Anderson named Castle Patient Care Executive
Adventist Health Castle President Kathy Raethel has announced that Erik Anderson, formerly Director of Quality and Clinical Information Systems, has accepted
the position of Adventist Health Castle Executive team as Patient Care Executive. Erik fills the vacancy left by Laura Westphal who is retired August 4.
In 1997, Erik started in the Emergency Department as an emergency room technician and has grown personally
and professionally with the organization. Promoted to Director of Quality in 2015, Erik has led the department through
two The Joint Commission surveys and a successful Malcolm Baldrige Award journey.
Erik received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree from Pacific Lutheran University, and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Hawai'i Pacific University.
   Virginia Okamoto, MBA, Physician Talent Advisor
Virginia Okamoto joined Adventist Health Castle in July as Physician Talent Advisor.
Virginia’s love and passion for provider and patient experience has led her to recruiting physicians and healthcare professionals. Most recently, Virginia served as provider relations and business resource for one of Hawai‘i’s physician-led entities. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and has worked in recruitment, client
relations, business management and operations. She comes to Castle with over eight years of recruitment experience. Her background includes healthcare, other industries, for-profits and nonprofits, and in local and metropolitan markets coast to coast, including an international S&P 500 firm.
As the Physician Talent Advisor at Adventist Health Castle, Virginia is responsible for recruiting, on-boarding and retention for physicians and allied health providers.
In her free time, she enjoys music, Hawai‘i’s beautiful outdoors, reading, film and speaking conversational Korean.
