2020 Performance Management Program Launches in August
by Todd Reese, Director of Human Performance
Mahalo for your dedication and resilience over the last few months. We have learned many things during this pandemic, but perhaps the most important is the need for human connection. As we continue to reopen Adventist Health to normal operations, I am pleased to share the deployment of our 2020 Performance Management Program. This will give you an excellent opportunity to reconnect with your leader and refresh your focus for the remainder of the year.
Per the calendar below, Castle will be deploying the program on August 3.
Your priority and key deadlines are to complete a self-assessment by August 31. I strongly encourage you to detail your accomplishments and progress throughout the prior year as it relates to your job duties and Adventist Health values.
For further information, check your HealthStream assignments for a short video assignment, which summarizes the features and benefits of our new Performance Management Program. For additional support, refer to the Associate Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ).
Thank you for your continued commit- ment to living our mission and values in service to our patients and communities. teach and learn from one another.
What is Performance Management?
Performance management is an ongoing conversation between you and your
leader throughout the year about your professional development and engagement in service to our patients, customers, communities, and ultimately to our mission.
What does this mean to me?
There are four elements of performance management designed to help you be successful.
These will ensure there is dedicated time with your leader to have the following key conversations throughout the year: The four elements include:
• My Plan: A conversation to identify the development activities needed to reach the next level of performance in your role and in living our Being Adventist Health values.
• My Progress: A conversation to discuss your progress on your Plan for the year.
• My Engagement: Conversations to round on your engagement needs.
• My Results: A conversation to review your performance evaluation based on your self-assessment and your leader’s assessment.
Throughout the year, you can also expect continuous coaching and feedback from your leader. As a result of all these conversations, you will have a greater opportunity to own your development here at Adventist Health.
What is expected of me?
Following are the key tasks for associates during deployment.
We need your commitment to:
Complete a self-assessment as part
of the performance evaluation, citing accomplishments and progress throughout the prior year.
Participate in the performance evaluation, discussing the assessment results and taking ownership of development actions to reach the next level of performance. Own your development actions, keeping track of your accomplishments and recognition, and reaching out for help when needed.
Take advantage of your rounding time to discuss what is working well and what you need to be more engaged in your role and relationships at work, serving our patients and customers and living our Being Adventist Health values.
Be open to ongoing feedback and coaching, so you can better leverage your best talents and skills to shine.
The following is a simple process checklist that highlights associate actions:
