Adrian Ilano, RN
Newest DAISY Award Winner
Adventist Health Castle is proud to
be among the nation’s hospitals that participate in The Daisy Award Program, an international nursing recognition program.
Congratulations to Adrian Ilano, RN, Laulima, who was recognized June 29 with the DAISY Award for providing excellent nursing care. Nurse Manager Ann Vega and Adrian's coworkers say he exemplifies all the qualities celebrated by the DAISY Award by being an advocate for patients and always providing empathetic and compassionate patient care.
“We had a patient that had just started Hospice during her stay. She often expressed that she did not want to be alone,” Emma Burleson, RN, Laulima, wrote when she nominated Adrian. “[The] patient’s family had a chance to say goodbye but were unable to spend time that night. Adrian was able to sit with
her and be with her when she passed.
He ensured her wishes were followed
by not leaving her alone & provided compassionate care for her all night. In addition, after he had already clocked out he went to the chapel to offer the family comfort there.”
