"Miracle Man" Jack Denis Battles Covid at Castle and Wins
After 88 days, his medical and clinical team and associates at Adventist Health Castle said aloha to Jack Denis, COVID-19 survivor on Friday afternoon, June 26. With his wife by his side, 72-year-old Denis checked out of the Castle and was met at the lobby entrance by family members and fellow fire fighters who gave him a hero's salute.
Also at his side were his primary physicians Takkin Lo, MD, MPH, Pulmonology Specialist, and Dan Bendtsen, MD, Critical Care Specialist, both who were thrilled to see him leave.
“I’ve been here all 88 days,” said Dr. Lo. “I’ve never taken a day off, so I’ve been here every day taking care of him, seeing him, and he is just a miracle man. I’ve never seen anything like this out of any textbook I have learned.”
