Castle’s empathy initiative featured in AHA today
Adventist Health Castle empathy program was featured in AHA Today, a new daily online e-newsletter for the American Hospital Association.
The newsletter provides a roundup of news and resources from the AHA and includes rotating features, one of which spotlights hospitals’ work to advance health in their communities. Castle’s empathy program was spotlighted as an initiative to improve outcomes and promote workforce engagement.
“Adventist Health Castle medical center in Kailua, Hawai‘i, teaches staff and volunteers listening skills and empathetic approaches to engaging with patients, families and colleagues through its Empathy In Action program. The hospital credits the program for improving patient satisfaction and employee engagement score,” the article noted.
