A very warm welcome to all those who have recently joined this fabulous online community. Whether you are a student, parent, teacher or tutor, there is something here for everyone.
What a difference the past six months have been! Covid-19 has tested all of us in more ways than one. Parents have had to homeschool their children, teachers and tutors have risen to the challenge of online teaching, whilst students have shown remarkable flexibility in adapting school life by turning their living room into a classroom. Many have had to adjust from face to face tuition to online learning with short notice. Arrangement for online tutorials are generally easier and more flexible, as neither the student nor the tutor has to travel, but some may argue that face to face interaction is better for their child. Every child is different but through these unprecedented times, we have seen their resilience shining through. This is the new norm; at least for now. Online learning is here to stay for as long as it is needed to keep students focused and motivated.
I am extremely proud of the team of admins we have in this group. Over the past few months, since the lockdown began, we have introduced quite a few new resources and in order to make these resources more accessible to our members, they have all been put into subject specific ‘Albums’. Some documents have also been uploaded into the 'Files' section. Some of our advertisers have also come forward to share their resources and expertise with our members through Facebook Live sessions and daily or weekly resource sharing. I am certain that these
resources help many students. Three new admins have also joined since February. Sarah Louise Chauhan, David Hatton and Meera Vasudeva bring with them a wealth of experience in their speciality subjects and have been sharing some valuable resources in the group since they came onboard.
In July, we rebranded to include A-level and renamed the group '11+, ISEB, SATs, GCSE & A-level Resource Group'. Since then, we have collaborated with The VICI Language Academy to bring us GCSE French and GCSE Spanish. Latin Tutor Online brings us GCSE & A-level Latin, GCSE & A-level Classical Greek, 13+ Common Entrance Classics. North Finchley Tutors Ltd. bring daily ‘Question of the Day’. In the coming weeks and months, we will be seeing more Modern Languages in the group too.
We hope that the resources we share in this group will continue to help your child from their 11+ right up to A-level preparations.
