applicable in the event of the client’s death, in which case a 2-week notice will be payable, referred to in 26.2
2.2 The assessment period arrangement will not affect statutory rights in respect of the 14-day cancellation period.
3. Emergency Pager/On Call
3.1 Ranger Home Care provides a 24-hour emergency telephone support and guidance service for the use of our clients and carers.
3.2 Office hours are Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm. Friday 09:00am – 5:00pm. Outside of office hours Ranger Home Care offer an on-call service for emergency use only. Please dial 01252850040 and press 1 to be connected to on call.
4. Initial Set Up and Cancellation
4.1 Once the assessment period has been completed, to cancel the service we require 1 months written notice. This is to enable us to offer alternative employment to our staff. Ranger Home Care reserves the right to charge for the carer’s remaining assignment time if this is less than the required notice
period. In either event, Ranger Home Care will provide invoice confirming requirement of payment of either the full four-week cancellation period, or carer’s remaining assignment time if this is less than the required notice period.
4.2 Ranger Home Care may cancel this contract without cause with four weeks’ notice of cancellation to the client. If Ranger Home Care’s Carer is subject to any form of abuse or discrimination, or if the carer’s health and safety is put at risk by unreasonable behaviour, Ranger Home Care reserves the right to immediately cancel the contract.
4.3 Ranger Home Care will carry out a pre-booking assessment for every client in order to assess the client’s care requirements.
4.4 Ranger Home Care will carry out a risk assessment of the client’s home prior to any assignment commencing and recommend necessary changes. Should any recommended changes not be completed, the assignment may be delayed until Ranger Home Care is satisfied the client has established a safe working environment.
5. Medication
5.1 Medication is the responsibility of the client within his/her home. Ranger Home Care will take responsibility for medication where the GP has signed a medication chart and provided an FP10 printout.
6. Meals
6.1 Live-in carers working in the client’s home should be provided with three meals per day, or the facilities and provision for making their own meals, to include one hot meal. The Carer will also require access to drinks. Ranger Home Care would recommend a minimum of £40 per week for the cost of the carer’s meals.
