Jewish Home at Home: Aging in Community
You’re probably reading the same articles and hearing the same news reports that we are — each of them confirming what we already know, that the number of older adults in the United States is rising daily and is projected to reach all-time high levels in the next decade.
In fact, by 2035 there will be more older adults than youth in our country, an unprecedented population shift. You also know, as we do, that people have a strong desire to “age in community,” to maintain their independence for as long as possible.
Jewish Home at Home was created in anticipation of these trends. Under the Home at Home umbrella we provide a number of home and community-based services, all of which are designed to help members of our community
to age at home successfully. Those key programs are @HomeCare, the Gallen Day Center and Safely@Home.

The program has grown significantly and we have more than 50 certified aides, two full time nurses and a full time scheduler in addition to manager Chris Pableo. With transportation, meals, nursing care, social work along with creative and stimulating programs, the Gallen Center is a tremendous benefit to our participants and their families. I often
say that day care is the most misunderstood and under- utilized part of the aging services continuum, meeting
a need that could not be met in any other way. At the
