A 13 Year History of Excellence
in Assisted Living Care
We are pleased to report another strong year for the Jewish Home Assisted Living, Kaplen Family Senior Residence.
Amid a building boom by many for-profit companies trying to capitalize financially on the growing number of Americans age 65 and older, our Assisted Living services in River Vale continue to be a strong favorite in North Jersey. We accomplish this by offering unique and compelling programs.
A few of these include: Rock Steady Boxing for both our residents and community members; in-house nursing services 24 hours per day, 7 days per week; and in-house IV services so our residents can reduce the need to go
to a medical facility or hospital.
These services and the quality of care have rewarded
us in two ways:
1. We have received our Advanced Standing certificate as a quality Assisted Living residence in New Jersey for the fifth straight year; and
2. The Jewish Standard awarded us first place
as the best free-standing Assisted Living residence in North Jersey.
Our elders at JHAL continue to enjoy a variety of programs from lectures, to trips, to participating in
OMA (Opening Minds through Art) and enjoying a variety of concert series. Many continue to volunteer not only within the walls of the organization but in the community as well. Our elders volunteer with area public schools and help shelters in Paterson.
Our JHAL team consists of 135 employees and 45 volunteers. These folks perform thousands of medical- related services, and serve in excess of 100,000 meals each year.
The workforce in healthcare continues to be an area of focus as many prepare for the next generation to become a part of our home. We continue to focus on recruiting, training and retention of our wonderful staff. The entire organization is always thinking out of the box with new and invigorating ways to make The Jewish Home Family the first choice for employees.
None of this would have been possible without Billz”l and Maggie Kaplen. We say thank you to Bill for having had the foresight and drive to create this fine residential building, and to Maggie for her continued support, love and board leadership over the years.
