SBU detains Motor Sich head suspected of supplying military equipment to Russia. Ukrainian authorities detained Viacheslav Bohuslaiev, the head of Motor Sich, one of the world's leading manufacturers of aircraft engines based in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine's Security Service reported on Oct. 23. Bohuslaiev is suspected of collaborating with Russia, allegedly supplying it with aircraft engines, which Russia used for the "production and repair" of its attack helicopters Mi-8, Ka-52, and Mi-28.
FM Kuleba: 'Russia’s ‘dirty bomb’ misinformation campaign might be aimed at creating pretext for false-flag operation.' Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba spoke with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken following Russia's Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu's claims that Ukraine could escalate the situation with a dirty bomb — a device that uses explosives to scatter radioactive waste. Elon Musk: Starlink to work in Ukraine regardless of Pentagon funding. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said that, before the U.S. Department of Defense came back with an answer regarding taking over funding for Ukraine's use of Starlink satellites, he told Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov that "SpaceX would not turn off Starlink even if (the Pentagon) refused to provide funding," according to his Oct. 24 tweet. Fedorov confirmed his claim, adding that the technology was "critically important for Ukraine."
Scholz explains why he's refusing to send German tanks to Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz told Die Welt that his country does not want to "act alone", meaning that other Western countries should also send such tanks if Germany does. Scholz also said that 20-30% of Germans don’t agree with the sanctions against Russia and arms deliveries to Ukraine. Scholz has been repeatedly accused of blocking arms supplies to Ukraine.
PACE recognizes Russian regime as 'terrorist.' The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has adopted a resolution stating that the Russian regime is terrorist, according to lawmaker and member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Oleksii Honcharenko. The resolution also declares the need to provide Ukraine with air defense systems and to create an international tribunal for Russian crimes, according to Honcharenko.
Estonian parliament declares Russia terrorist regime. The Estonian parliament condemned Russia's illegal annexation of Ukrainian territories and voted to declare Russia "a terrorist regime" on Oct. 18. "Putin's regime, with its threats of a nuclear attack, has turned Russia into the biggest danger to peace in Europe and in the whole world," reads the statement submitted by 85 Estonian lawmakers.
