     About 70% of Russian citizens believe that Putin should run for another term in office, with another 15% saying that the incumbent should leave his current post but take a senior government position, according to a poll that the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) released on December 7. Only 8% believe that the Russian leader should leave the political stage altogether.
The number of Ukrainian citizens who believe the country and its war effort are moving in the right direction fell to 54% in December, as compared with 68% in May 2022, according to a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology and reported by Bloomberg.
In contrast, the share of Russians who think Russia is headed in the right direction increased from 67% in November to 69% in December, according to the country's leading independent pollster the Levada Center.
About 48% of US voters believe that Washington is spending too much on aid for Ukraine, the Financial Times writes, citing a poll conducted together with the Michigan University on December 5-6.
As many as 27% of those surveyed said that Washington was spending the "right amount" and only 11% said that the US was not spending enough.
As for Israel aid, about 40% of respondents believe that the US is spending too much and 30% said it’s enough.
According to researchers, the large share of those opposing US President Joe Biden’s policy towards military and financial aid for Ukraine and Israel comes from uncertainty about the state of the US economy. Only a quarter of those polled described it as either "good" or "excellent."
