y/y.
Slovenia’s industrial production posted a slim growth of an annual 0.4% in October, reversing a 6.1% decline in the previous month (chart), according to statistics office data. This marks the initial month of output growth since November 2022, breaking the trend of consistent annual declines in industrial production.
In the first ten months of 2023, year on year the industrial output was lower in mining and quarrying (by 19.6%) and in manufacturing (by 3.4%), and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it posted the biggest drop of 32.3%.
In October 2023, Slovenia’s PMI index was 41.4 points from 41.1 in September.
The manufacturing PMI amounted to 44.2 points in October (in September it was 41.4), which means a further decline in economic activity in the manufacturing sector. The production index is, however, after five months below the limit of 50 points, swung to a value of 55.6 points, but the index of new orders is still strong below the limit of 50 points and amounts to 36.3 points.
