September, according to the statistics office. Prices in the manufacturing industry posted a 2.4% y/y jump in October, after rising by 2.6% y/y in September.
Annual producer prices in the mining and quarrying sector climbed by 13.7% y/y in October, after going up by 12.5% y/y in the previous month. In the electricity, gas, steam and hot water supply sector, PPI moved down by 0.3% y/y in October, after rising by 2.2% y/y in September.
Bosnia’s broader industrial producer price index, also including export sales, increased 2.9% y/y in October after moving up by 3.1% y/y in September. In monthly terms, the broader index dropped by 0.1%.
Industrial sales also remained in a downward trend last year. In September, the industrial turnover decreased by 1.4% y/y. The industrial sales index decreased by 2.2% month on month and by 0.8% y/y on the domestic market while increasing by 0.9% m/m and falling by 2.1% y/y on the non-domestic market.
In September 2024, as compared to September 2023, the total turnover of energy declined by 4.7%, while the turnover of durable consumer goods moved down by 9.2% y/y. The sales of capital goods dropped by 8.6% y/y.
At the same time, the turnover of non-durable consumer goods grew by 2.5% y/y, while intermediate goods remained unchanged y/y.
In the first nine months of 2024, Bosnia’s industrial turnover index decreased by 1.1% y/y with energy falling the most, by 14.6% y/y, followed by durable consumer goods (down by 10.5% y/y) and intermediate goods (down by 2.4% y/y). Capital goods dropped by 0.4% y/y. Non-durable consumer goods grew by 6.5% y/y in January-September 2024.
