Britain was one of the first to grant permission to use its weapons in Russian territory; this position has since been supported by Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. The US is still opposed, but pressure on the Biden administration to allow this is increasing internally and externally. According to the WP, Biden is leaning towards giving Ukraine permission to strike with American short-range weapons in Russian territory. In turn, Putin reacted to this by declaring that "these representatives of NATO countries, especially in Europe and small countries, should realize what they are playing with."
Belgium announces that it won’t let Ukraine strike targets in Russia with the 30 F-16s that Belgium will send to Ukraine. Neither in the area near Kharkiv or anywhere else.
Germany is close to allowing Ukraine to strike targets in Russia, the US is slowly warming to the idea, and Denmark will allow F-16 fighter jets to attack inside Russia. According to Politico, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz may allow Ukraine to strike Russia with German weapons. He declared that Ukraine has a right to use German weapons "within international law."
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, speaking in Moldova, said that as conditions on the battlefield have changed, the US has "adapted and adjusted" the support and weapons it provided. When asked if this means the US will change its policy regarding strikes on targets in the Russian Federation, he noted: "We have constantly adapted and adjusted as needed. And we will do so in the future.” Blinken clarified that Ukraine can use American air defense equipment to eliminate Russian missiles or fighter jets over the territory of the Russian Federation.
