The US is developing a backup plan for the export of Ukrainian grain. The United States is working with Ukraine on a Plan B to unblock grain exports after Russia's strike on Odesa. CNN writes about this regarding the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). "Plan B covers the road, rail, and river transport, as well as the dispatch of barges and the adjustment of rail systems. They should be more in line with the European system so that exports can move faster," USAID noted. The US noted that it is necessary to consider various unforeseen circumstances because Putin cannot be trusted.
Ukraine will resume sunflower oil exports to India. Bloomberg reports that India will receive the first shipment of sunflower oil from Ukraine in September after a five-month break. According to the director of the Indian Sunvin Group, from 50 to 60,000 tons can be delivered to India because Ukraine is opening Black Sea corridors for the export of agricultural products. He assumes that loading will take place in the seaports of Odesa and Chornomorsk. “We started receiving offers for deliveries in August, but everything will depend on the availability of vessels. Ukraine has sufficient reserves of oil crops for processing," said Bajoria. Last year, India bought 1.9 million tons of crude sunflower oil (74% coming from Ukraine).
Danube ports will ship 1.3 million tons of agricultural products in July.
The export of farm products through the Danube ports in July will amount to 1.3 million tons, said the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov. "The volumes of shipments through Danube ports is constantly growing. That is, we will have 1,300,000 tons this month," the minister said. Kubrakov added that, as of now, approximately half of the agricultural exports go through Danube ports. Another 30% falls on the railway and 20% - on road transport. According to him, if the three ports in the Black Sea will work, they will account for 70-80% of the export volume, as before the full-scale invasion.
Ukraine plans to stop grain export to Syria. Ukraine may block the export of its grain to Syria due to the country's purchase of the harvest looted by the Russians, said the Minister of Agricultural Policy, Mykola Solsky. According to the minister, the Russian military continues to steal large amounts of grain from farmers in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to official data, they have already stolen 500,000 tons, but the real figure may be much higher. Solsky noted that farmers in the uncontrolled part of southern Ukraine have already collected several million tons of grain. The Ukrainian government continues to monitor suspicious shipments and inform the authorities of the countries to which these shipments are sent. Recently, a few Russian cargo ships with Ukrainian grain have been seen at Syrian seaports. However, the Syrian government did not heed Ukraine’s warning to stop accepting the stolen grain.
