Naftogaz will create its own gas station network. Naftogaz will be a national operator in the gas station market to prevent high prices, said the CEO of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko. According to him, the state does not intend to monopolise this market. But there must be a powerful state player in the market that is trusted by both the state and the people. “When there is a state player with a significant market share of 15-20-30%, but not 100% or 1%, then there is more confidence that consumers have the opportunity to buy gas at a fair, competitive price," Vitrenko added.
Court seizes Russian company Tatneft assets in Ukraine. According to Ukrainian authorities, Tatneft supplies oil products for the Russian Ministry of Defence. 115 real estate objects were seized, including oil depots and gas stations, as well as 118 fuel trucks. Authorities estimate that the value of the seized assets can reach up to $67 million.
9.2.3 Transport corporate news
Ukrainian Railways will end the year with a loss. Ukrainian Railways (UZ) will end the year with a financial loss due to reduced freight traffic and many evacuation trips, said UZ supervisory board member Serhiy Leshchenko. The state railroad company will likely end the year with a loss due to a decrease in iron and grain cargo to the seaports that are currently blocked and are not accepting any shipments. In 2021, UZ ended the year with a profit of UAH500M ($18M), and according to the financial projections for 2022, it should have brought in UAH2B ($66M) in profits. These projections were made assuming a typical, peaceful year and in consideration of plans to increase railway traffic and apply new reforms. The national railway company was operating at a profit during the first two months of this year until the war began.

The ATB chain will resume the operation of another 50 stores in the Kyiv region. By the end of May, the ATB retail chain plans to resume operations at more than half of the 100 stores that are temporarily closed in the Kyiv region. Thus, by the end of May, more than 100 of the stores that had been temporarily closed will return to work, the report said. The first to reopen are stores that have been spared destruction and with minor damage, which after the departure of the invaders and the cessation of shelling and airstrikes, can work without major repairs, said ATB CEO, Boris Markov. It is noted that due to the war, ATB was forced to suspend operations at a total of more than 200 stores: they were damaged, cut off from main communications, and it was impossible to deliver products due to active hostilities, such as enemy shelling, or seizure of territory.
The ATB grocery store chain will open ten new stores. The largest retail chain in Ukraine, ATB, will resume the operation of another 100 stores and open ten new ones by the end of June, said the Director of the Corporation, Boris Markov.
