Lower School

I've had a fantastic year leading the most energetic group of prefects in the Lower

School Department. This department includes the six departments of the SLO,

including Academics, Management, Discipline, Activities, Sports and Outreach.

Throughout the year, our team held numerous events during lunch breaks in order to

promote awareness campaigns like anti-bullying and anti-littering. The Lower School

Department also participated in Dubai's 30x30 Fitness Challenge by hosting short

fitness races and an all-time favourite, Tug of War! Our Academics sub-department

ensured that primary students passed their exams through continuous reteach

sessions, study groups, and peer-to-peer tutoring. We also put together a Spelling

Bee to prepare sixth graders for the Regional SABIS Stars competition. Being given

the opportunity to work with excited primary students was definitely one of the most

memorable experiences of my senior year. By practicing team building and

management skills from a young age, primary students will certainly develop a

responsible attitude towards themselves and others. The fact that I had a role in this

massive movement feels amazing and I really hope that this mini-SLO will continue to

help primary students to enjoy their days at school. Much love to my team, especially

to my sub-heads, without whom nothing would have stayed in order. You guys are the
