A Message from the Superintendent of Schools
“Competing in sports has taught me that if I’m not willing to give 120 percent, somebody else will.”
Ron Blomberg
Dear Eastchester Student Athletes,
Tonight we celebrate the 48th Eagles Sports Club Awards Dinner. We acknowledge your accomplishments and thank you for representing your school and community with pride in the arenas of athletic competition. What you have learned through perseverance, sportsmanship, goal-setting, discipline, team work, winning and losing will guide you for the rest of your lives.
Eastchester’s athletic program truly reflects the leadership, dedication, and passion of its Athletic Director, Jason Karol. You know how deeply he cares about the quality of opportunities for every student athlete. Coach Karol’s optimism and joy is evident to all, whether behind the scenes, at practices and games, or in the halls of school.
The talented athletic department and coaching staff of EHS also merit our thanks. By providing inspiration and guidance to our student athletes, they transform individual talent into strong and cohesive teams. In modeling good sportsmanship, they reinforce the core values inherent in athletic competition.
Your parents also deserve a special commendation. Their loyal and faithful support of this athletic program is a source of tremendous pride and enthusiasm. Their engagement and allegiance benefits the entire school community.
Finally, thank you to the Eagles Sports Club for their ongoing financial support and advocacy on behalf of our athletic program. Their fundraising efforts provide generous scholarships each year to deserving student athletes. Members of the Sports Club can be found at every contest offering genuine encouragement and spirit to inspire your best performance.
High school sports may quite possibly be the last time you will participate in competitive athletics. Remember that what you have learned and experienced is transferable. Following our many teams this year has been a joy and privilege. Congratulations!
Dr. Walter R. Moran III Superintendent of School
