GENERAL INFORMATION
The course offered as Life Skills develop students' knowledge in various areas giving them a sound foundation for high school success and the rigors of life beyond Padua.
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION (1986)
Full Year; every other day 1⁄2 Credit Grade 9
The focus of this mandatory course for freshman is to provide the foundation for all levels of personal success. Students will learn the most researched and effective ways on how to navigate through the rigors of a college preparatory high
school and the dynamics of adolescence. The course will focus on strengthening the education of the whole person: Social, Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Spiritual. Topics will include personal wellness, decision-making, study and test- taking sills, time and stress management, professional effectiveness, and digital citizenship. During the second semester of this course, students will continue to develop skills to increase high school success. Additionally, beginning with the Class of 2022, the Financial Literacy graduation mandate of the Ohio Department of Education will be taught during this time frame. This is a Pass/Fail course with most course work being limited to class-time activities and discussions; there is no impact upon a student’s GPA. The course will also include experts and professionals from the topic areas.
