MyTrack Engineering
MyTrack Engineering students visited the makerspace and science labs at the Washkewicz College of Engineering at Cleveland State University. Students also met with Maddie Dougherty ’20 and Melissa Driscoll ’20 as part of Ohio State’s College of Engineering Hometown Ambassador Program. Professional engineering speakers included Ed Campobenedetto ’69, formerly of Babcock and Wilcox, Patrick DiMarco ’89 of Ford Performance (NASCAR), and Nicole Zimmerli ’19, a University
of Akron engineering student. Networking with engineering students, professionals, and professors is a great way to explore career opportunities.
MyTrack Law
MyTrack Law career speakers included Mike Sliwinski ’94 of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Parma Police Officer Dave Nimrichter, Michael Czack ’77 of the Czack Law Firm, and Julie Juergens ’89 of General Electric.
Law students had a hands-on opportunity to investigate a staged crime scene in Padua’s Library. They used investigative tools like photography, sketching, fingerprinting and deductive reasoning.
MyTrack Studio Art
MyTrack Studio Art students judged and curated Padua’s Elementary Art Show and completed the “Huevember” challenge. AP Studio Art students had the opportunity for in-depth digital drawing workshops with professional graphic illustrator Len Peralta ’88. Padua continues to invest in the latest technology including iPads and Apple pencils for our digital artists.
MyTrack Computer Science and Engineering students joined together to learn about careers
in technology from our very own computer science teachers, Mr. Rich Kirkpatrick and Mr. Joe Morel. They each worked many years in the industry before coming to Padua.
Robotics Club enjoyed competing in tournaments this year as a challenging and fun hands-on way
to dive deeper into programming and engineering concepts.
