WEDDING PLANNER
The wedding planner is a couple’s best friend in the planning process. A wedding planner is responsible for making sure your wedding is exactly what you want it to be, and is generally hired just after you get engaged and after you have established the general budget for your wedding. Once hired, your wedding planner requires you to provide them with as much detail as possible of what you would like your wedding to be like. They will then partner with you to pick out everything from a wedding ven- ue to wedding florists, caterers, furniture rent- als, invitations and all the details in between.
Depending on your time and budget con- straints, you can be as involved as you would like to be. If you are too busy to dedicate time to planning, that is where having a wedding plan- ner is so beneficial. They will be responsible for handling all the coordinating and arrang- ing, getting your input when you have the time to sit down with them. They are very capable of keeping the planning organised, within budget and way ahead of schedule, leaving you room to enjoy the engagement period, with a lot less stress for you and your fiancé to deal with.
Wedding planners will also be able to provide you with suggestions on vendors that are both great quality and within the budget.
WEDDING COORDINATOR
The wedding coordinator really shows their value on your wedding day. They are the per- son behind the scenes, making sure that your wedding day goes as smoothly as possible so you don’t have to worry about anything. They are not the person you call straight after en- gagement, and do not help you pick out venues and flowers or any of those particular details. They will take all the hard work and research you have done and turn those plans into real- ity.
It is best to meet with your wedding coordina- tor several months or several weeks (depend- ing on the level of service you require from them) before your wedding day. You will go over your wedding timeline, guest count, ven- ue details and any details regarding the flow of your wedding day. Think of them as your wedding day time enforcer, they keep the day flowing, structured and organised. Your wed- ding coordinator will make sure the tables are set on time, ensure that the guests are seated in the right places, the ceremony starts and ends on time, details are packed up and sent back to the vendors and that everything is running as smoothly as possible.
