of Good and Evil. Should they eat of it they would die. Satan one day tempted Eve to eat of it saying
God was a liar and they would not immediately die. They both ate of it ….the death process began for
their body and soul, but their spirit immediately died, breaking their fellowship with God. And since
then every man and woman ever born has been born with a live body, a live soul, and a dead spirit.
Hence… THE LOSTNESS! AND …..the need to be BORN AGAIN! Without a living “spirit nature,” no man
can relate to God who is spiritual.

John 4:24 God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth!

                                     EVERY MAN IN HIS/HER LOSTNESS

                                                           BODY

                                            SOUL SPIRIT

               1. Man’s body is the box that he lives in….in the Bible a Christian’s body is referred to as the “Temple of
               the Holy Spirit.”
               2. Man’s soul is his eternal being that temporarily lives in his body. It is that part of him that thinks,
feels, and makes decisions. It never dies….even in Hell.
               3. Man’s spirit is his spiritual nature which connects to God. John 4:24 says “God is a spirit and they that
worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in Truth.” Every man is “born” spiritually dead and
sometime in his life he must be born again in order for him to have a spiritual nature which can relate to
God and to go to Heaven after his body dies.

The apostle Paul, in his writings, uses several analogies to explain godliness and the Gospel:
Faith vs. Works Grafting in branches to the tree
Law vs. Grace The Law of Sin vs. the Law of the Spirit
The Old Man vs. the New Man

Jesus also uses several analogies to explain godliness and the Gospel. Here we focus on The New Birth.
Natural water vs. the Water of Life
                       Sheep following the Shepherd
Bread vs. the Bread of Life
Eating His flesh and drinking His blood
The New Birth or Being Born Again

               Why does it Matter?

It matters because people, without a spiritual nature, follow a worldly lifestyle and they
are dominated by satanic influences. [Read Eph. 2:1-3]
