P. 5

for his resurrection? Did He really do all the miracles that the Bible says He did? If He was such a good
guy, why did the religious leaders of His day reject His teachings and crucify Him?

               World Issues
If God is good, why is there so much evil in the world? Did God create evil? Why can’t God put an end
to all the suffering and pain in the world? Aren’t most of the wars in history caused by people claiming
to be Christians? (ex., the Crusades)

               World Religions
What makes Christianity better than all the other religions in the world?
Are there not many ways to God? Don’t all religions lead to God? Don’t
you think everyone will eventually become like God? Why do Christian
fight among themselves? Why are there so many denominations in the
               Christian churches?
I see people to claim to be a Christian but live no better than I do. How
valid is their claims? Aren’t most Christians a bunch of hypocrites?

               Condition of Man
Don’t you believe that the human race is basically good at heart? Don’t you think what makes people
do bad things is the fact that they have learned bad things by living in a bad environment? Why is there
so much evil in the world?

So, since we are all called to be apologists, we must be able to give a logical, intellectual, and biblically
present defensible answers to each one of these questions with grace and love. That’s what this course
is all about. You must learn what is at the heart of each of these questions and be able to give a
persuasive, logical and truthful response which will cause the person questioning you to be convinced of
the truth: that Jesus Christ is Lord. Only in this response can that person be eternally regenerated. But
foremost, you must understand that it is the Holy Spirit that convicts of sin, righteousness, and
judgment (John 16:8). It is His job to change the person’s way of thinking, not yours. We will learn
various ways to defend our faith in answering these questions, and our prayer is that God can use your
defense to persuade the unbeliever to come to Christ. Let’s take each section of questions in order and
discover answers that we can give to them that defend our faith and help them come to Christ. Let’s
               get started….

               The Questions about God
               Does God exist?
The existence of God cannot be proved or disproved. Man cannot
put God in a test tube and validate His existence using the laws of
science. The Bible says that we must accept by faith that God
                                                 exists.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and
that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.
