What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Which method do you think most
closely is a copy of the original languages?

Note: It is interesting, that when I took Greek in Seminary and we had to translate books of
the New Testament, the students are not allowed to use the New American Standard Bible (NASB)
when doing our translation. The reason was that it is an almost word-for-word translation and would
provide too much assistance to us. After turning in the assignment, we would go back to that version of
the Bible and check our work. It is an excellent study Bible.
