great fire in Rome. Nero ordered many put to death including Peter and Paul. According to tradition,
Peter was crucified upside down and Paul was beheaded. The Church in Rome was a center of
Christianity in the entire Roman world.

               14.4 Let’s Practice…

               6. Rather than repeat the cities of the first journey, Paul continued to go west in Turkey and ended up in
Troas. What happened there that altered his planned course?

                                                                 nd

               14.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…

Activity: I believe that someday when our lives are over, if we have trusted in Jesus to be our
Savior and Lord, we will be in Heaven for all eternity. I believe we will know one another.
Scripture says that the Lord will present rewards for faithfulness. Probably the greatest reward a
person there could receive is the thanks from another person for sharing the Gospel so that they
could believe. Paul was consumed with spreading the Gospel throughout the known world of his
day. The question is how consumed are you? Do you share the Gospel with everyone you meet?
Perhaps the best way to apply this lesson is for you to commit to a more earnest desire to share your
faith with as many lost people as you can.
