          Biography
Anglada Luis Pintó (1873-1946) was a Spanish painter from Barcelona. He entered the Fine
Arts School of Barcelona at a very young age, attending Antonio Caba’s classes and showing
a particular aptitude for drawing. A few years later, he moved to Rome, and afterwards to
Paris where he established a close friendship with José Maria Sert and Pablo Ruiz Picasso.
He stayed in Paris for the rest of his life. He painted Oriental themes inspired by Jean L.
Gérome, to such a limit of a photographic design. He had great success in France and
America. He was a member of the Salon Des Independents.
