We have timed this mid-winter tour perfectly as we'll be visiting Hanmer Springs for a soak in the hot natural thermal pools. Every drop of the spring's ther- mal water is heated by Mother Nature and infused with minerals – a process that takes 173 years. We'll spend time easing our aching muscles soaking in the silky- -smooth sulphur pools and natural rock pools, all with a stunning backdrop so you can simply sit and watch the world go by.
There is so much to see in the upper South Island region, this tour will be a landscapephotographer'sdream. StartinginBlenheimthedriveprovidesspecta- cular ocean and mountain views. One of the hightlights will be whale watching by air with opportunities to photography humpback whales, blue whales, southern right whales, long-finned pilot whales, and orca.
Travelling inland down to Christchurch, we meander through the region's small towns, stopping for retail therapy along the way.
On this tour, we will mix the foodie experience with both seafood and North Canterbury farmed produce - our version of "surf & turf".
