One of the big problems of living in the natural world
was the threat from predators. Humans make a tasty
meal for carnivorous animals and even large herbivores
could cause problems if you got in their way!
We can use cave art to see some of
the dangers faced by Paleolithic
people. Images of predators,
however, are surprisingly quite rare.
Rouffignac caves do not contain any
and other places nearby only have a
few.
