By now you should have a clear understanding of what your hair's porosity
is, and if you're not quite sure not to worry because you will get to grips in
the end. Just bear in mind that there are several factors that can alter your
hair's porosity, and I will highlight them for you. All natural hair is porous
bt the level of your hair's porosity varies dependent of your genetics and how
much damage your cuticle layer has been through. Do remember that
colouring your hair and styling your hair with heat or relaxers can affect
your hair's porosity, but that's not all your day to day maintenance of caring
for your hair can sometimes affect the cuticle layer also, so these are all
things to bear in mind.
There are several tests that can determine what your hair porosity is, but in
my opinion, the best way is when your hair is washed in its natural state to
see how well your hair absorbs and retains that moisture.
If you fall under high porosity hair I have a few recommendations that will
help you to better manage your hair.
Tip For High Porosity
> It is best to deep condition your hair to help seal damaged cuticles. Deep
conditioners you can use are:
1. Shea Moisture Tahitian Noni & Monoi Smooth & Repair Hair Mask.
2. Shea Moisture High Porosity Range
3. Eden Body Works Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner
