PREFACE

Welcome to the 1 International Symposium on Construction Innovation Research

(ISCIR 2017)

The Department of Engineering and Architecture of Rajamangala University of
Technology Tawan-Ok extends a very warm welcome to all participants of the 1st
International Symposium on Construction Innovation Research (ISCIR 2017). This first
ISCIR is organized by The Department of Engineering and Architecture of
Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-Ok, Uthenthawei campus.

It is with great joy that we invite you to take part in the 1 ISCIR 2017, which will be

held in Thailand on September 10, 2017. The 1 ISCIR will try to address specific topic
on Innovative Seismic Strengthening System for Concrete Structures using
advanced composite materials.

The symposium can essentially provide a platform for academics, practitioners and
young researchers to present, share, and learn more about the latest developments
in the field of structural FRP for seismic rehabilitation. Moreover, it would be a unique
opportunity to explore shopping, dining and beauty of the “land of smiles” in
Southeast Asia and to understand Thai cuisine, scenery, culture and history, closely.

The ISCIR 2017 is supported by a large number of individuals and organizations
without which this symposium would not have been possible. Many RMUTTO
administrators, faculties, staff and students played an important role in the success
of the first symposium, so we would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere
gratitude and highest respect to them all.

We are looking forward to welcoming the composite community in Thailand.
