Letter from H.E. Lic, Marid Antono Ponee Lopez
President of the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador
April 2020
Receive an affectionate greeting from me and from the Salvadoran people, hoping that all the tasks that are your responsibility at the head of such an important organization produce the expected successes, and we continue in the search for a more solidary, tolerant and peaceful world. We have received with great joy your note in which you make available the valuable collaboration and support of your organization to be able to combat this Pandemic produced by COVID-19 that is bringing so much despair and mourning to our peoples.
As the legislative Assembly of El Salvador, we are making an important effort in this crisis and the support offered by the GCTP comes to strengthen and fill us with hope that United we will soon emerge from this emergency.
In relation to the donation of the 10,000 masks and special suits for the protection of health personnel that he graciously offers us, in joint work with Deputy Gustavo Acosta, member of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP), we have identified that the first people in need of protection are health workers and it is for them that we propose the following distribution:
1- Divina Providencia Hospital
2- Municipal and community clinics of the Department of San Salvador
3- Municipal and community clinics of the Department of Cuscatlan
Deliveries will be made on behalf of the international Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) with the corresponding registration and communication.
We await the procedure by which this important support for the El Salvador will materialize.
I say goodbye with the gratitude of the Salvadoran people and our availability to continue working to support the people most in need in this emergency.
