3. LTC recognizes the right of participant to make choices about their own care, including the right to refuse care.
Investigating and Acting on Suspected or Alleged Ethical Violations:
1. When a participant, family member, authorized representative, advocate or other person believes
that an ethical violation has occurred they may report such suspicion directly to any staff
member or management.
2. When staff believes a code of conduct violation has occurred they are obligated to report in one
of the following ways:
a. Immediate notification of the alleged incident or violation utilizing the reporting
mechanisms. Immediate reporting to management, if the suspected or alleged violation
involves their supervisor.
3. Managers who have been informed of a suspected or alleged violation are required to
immediately inform the corporate compliance officer (or designated staff member) of the
suspected violation.
Education of Ethical Codes
1. The Light of Truth Center, Inc. is responsible for providing education of ethical codes, practices and procedures.
2. LTC will provide in house training, 3c training institute and trainingvia Accreditation Now.
3. LTC will provide community and stakeholder trainings
Advocacy Efforts
1. The Light of Truth Center, Inc. does not pursue public policy advocacy/lobbying as part of its regular program activities. We recognize, however, that as a leader in our field, we are occasionally called upon by state officials, members of the media and others to offer positions on policy issues affecting the recipients of our services or to share knowledge and expertise relevant to ongoing policy deliberations. The Light of Truth Center, Inc. is also called upon to sign on to formal and informal coalitions that advocate for the interests of our clients.
Corporate Citizenship
1. LTC engages in advocacy and corporate citizenship efforts to reduce stigma and advocates for
Participants.
2. LTC communicates person centered concepts in our publications, operations, and activities.
3. LTC documents participation in advocacy and corporate citizenship via various forms of media
4. Actively review participant liaison concerns and suggestions provided at the board directors
meeting.
Confidential Information:
1. Light of Truth Center, will protect personal and confidential information concerning the organization’s system, staff, and participant.
2. Staff will not disclose confidential information unless at the request of participant and/or when authorized by law.
