1.A.7. Corporate Compliance
POLICY:
It is the policy of the Light of Truth Center, Inc. to provide services that fully comply with all federal, state, and local regulations and applicable laws, and to adhere to explicit ethical standards throughout the organization. Corporate compliance is demonstrated through written procedures that address exclusion of individuals and entities from federally funded healthcare programs. LTC addresses procedure timeframes for verifying that personnel or hired entities are not on the LEIE. The Light of Truth Center, Inc. will ensure these conditions are met through an ongoing corporate compliance program. The policy is reviewed annually for relevance.
The Corporate Compliance Policy shall:
1. Maintain and enhance the quality of services and tracking of funds.
2. When hiring check an individual or entities before hiring
3. Demonstrate a sincere effort to comply with all applicable laws.
4. Implement policies and procedures to enhance compliance.
5. Empower all involved parties to prevent, detect, respond to, report, and resolve conduct that does not conform to applicable laws and regulations.
PROCEDURES:
1. The corporate compliance officer and the compliance policy is approved by the board of directors.
2. The corporate compliance officer (CCO) provides leadership and oversight of the Corporate Compliance Program.
3. The management team ensures implementation of the compliance policy and identification of the corporate compliance officer
4. The CCO serves as the organization’s internal and external point of contact for overall corporate compliance issues.
5. Ensure that all suspected violators and/or violations are handled according to documented policy and resolved in a manner that ensure the integrity of the organization’s compliance with applicable guidelines and laws.
6. The compliance officer:
a. Monitors matters that impact corporate compliance
b. That conducts corporate risk assessments
c. Report any identified risks
7. The corporate compliance program will be fully integrated into the organization’s education and training systems. The training includes the role of the officer and training for fraud, waste, abuse and other wrongdoing.
8. The Light of Truth Center, Inc. will utilize the CCO to ensure that it conducts business in an ethical manner and ensure that any questionable business practices are thoroughly investigated through the organization’s written investigation procedures.
