 Why should I come to Runshaw to study Core Mathematics?
Core Mathematics is a level 3 qualification which holds UCAS points for university.
This course is particularly suitable for those students who are studying the following A Level subjects; Psychology, Economics, Business Studies, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Computer Science, and are not planning on doing A Level Maths alongside. The course provides support with the maths content in these subjects.
The course is also suitable for students who enjoy maths but are not doing an A Level in Mathematics.
What will I study?
The course has a problem solving approach with real world maths applications that are required in the above subjects.
Some examples of what you will cover:
• analysis of data
• maths for personal finance
• statistics and probability
• critical analysis of given data and models
(including spreadsheets and tabular data)
Some universities have even lowered entry requirements given a good Core Maths grade.
