“At Runshaw you are always inspired to achieve your best. You are made to feel welcome from the moment you walk in. There are so many different resources provided to help you do the best you can.”
Why should I come to Runshaw to study Dance?
Dance at Runshaw is an exciting and dynamic subject for those with a strong dance background and who pass an audition with us. Last year our students achieved 100% A*-C grades.
We also run a full range of enrichment activities; two technique classes per week are on offer and two shows per year in which all students can be involved.
Our fantastic Dance Academy gives students the opportunity to perform in competitions
in the UK and abroad and to experience workshops in many varied styles. This year our students were again victorious and came home with three trophies from the Barcelona Dance Grand Prix!
Recently, students have progressed to a number of prestigious dance colleges such as Rambert, LIPA, The Royal Academy of Dance, Italia Conti, Bird, Urdang, London Contemporary, Northern Contemporary and Performers, whilst others have gone on to study for Dance degrees at Liverpool John Moores and the University of Surrey.
What will I study?
You will mainly study contemporary dance, although other styles such as jazz, ballet, latin, ballroom and street can now be used when appropriate to the question paper.
