Why should I come to Runshaw to study Physical Education?
As a Physical Education student at Runshaw,
you can be assured of the very best teaching, all supported by our interactive environment, where class notes, revision notes, quizzes and guidance notes are available for students to access from both inside and outside of college. Some theory content will be delivered through engaging practical lessons making use of our state-of-the- art sports hall and fitness suite facilities.
You will have the chance to take the theory of your lessons and put it into practice by visiting various universities for exercise physiology testing, and using facilities such as climbing walls and driving ranges.
After finishing your course you can progress to university to study a variety of courses, including Sports Science, Sports Studies, Leisure Management, Teaching, Sports Therapy, Physiotherapy and others.
For those wishing to study Physiotherapy at university, subject combinations should please be considered carefully and further advice sought.

Section B: Skill acquisition and sports psychology, including classifications of skills, anxiety, theories of learning and motivation.
Section C: Sport and society and technology in sport, including the history of sport, barriers to participation, commercialisation and video analysis programmes.
How is the course assessed?

Year 2: The course is assessed via two 2-hour examinations for theory content, with external moderation of the practical and written course- work. For the practical coursework you will be assessed in one role as a performer or coach which makes up 15% of the overall grade.
